Sleeping beauty awakens...
Finally- after an almost five month hibernation I fired up my Z4M coupe. Fresh 10w60 in the fall and a fully charged battery made this easy.At last 14C. Ive been following the "dont start all winter" philosophy so as to not fill the crankcase with raw fuel and dilute the oil and so far so good. Pulled out on the potholed dirt road that was still wet and leads to the main road. Ah, nice and dry here although covered in sand and marbles from a long winter. Push in the sweet clutch and shift to second. A little graunchy til the fluid warms. Burble along in third until the oil warms up. The rock hard ride, the flat cornering, sublime steering and its super fat wheel feel great. Its like getting a new car every spring. As the oil temp moves up I can finally explore the rev range a bit and revel in the superb throttle response this atmo engine delivers! A few pulls from 3000 in third gear and it all comes flooding back- what a great toy this car is! If u cannot afford a 911 this will do nicely! Cheers. Btw -6C this am so spring has not sprung yet.

I'm going to uncover my '08 Z4, unhook the BT (battery tender) and put in back into summer mode next week (when it's a bit warmer).

I miss my Z4MC, truly a great car. I put a new stereo in the Bug last week and we had lots of rain the past few days so the salt has been washed off the roads. We are getting some nice warm weather this coming week so the battery tender is coming off and I'll get taking the Bug out for it's first drive of the spring. I wish I lived someplace where its warm year round.

I consider my peasant 3.0si coupe to be a beater, I drive that sucker all through the winter. Never in the snow or salt though. Had a nice long drive the other day. Thought my Disas were shot but turned out to be the Maf sensor connector had gone bad. Bought the kit and the 11 codes are gone.

Where in GTA are you located? We're most likely going to start the season soon. Cars&Coffee, or local cruises and such. There are few of us coupe owners north of the city. Also, myself and my friend AK72 on here go to Cayuga throughout the season if interested.
