Wheel stud alignment tool

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on this. Bavauto has free shipping today only for all phone orders, so it's a perfect time to place a small order if you need a single tool or part. I just ordered one of these to make it easier to take wheels on/off the car:

Thanks for the heads up on the free shipping. I have studs on my M but the alignment tool makes wheel changes infinitely easier on the ZHP. Definitely a must if someone doesn't have one in their toolbox.

BMW makes a similar tool and it's about $6 IIRC. Any old-time BMW with a spare has one and it doesn't need to be screwed into the hub; it just slips in the bolt hole.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Thanks, I always wondered how you measure what size spacers you need. That gave a good description. At $13 from ECS, it's about the same price as a screw-in stud alignment tool. Looks like an add-on item next time I place an order somewhere.

I bought one from ECS as soon as I found out there was such a thing.
That was less than a week after I horribly smashed a finger removing a wheel.
At least now I have a shiny new fingernail.
