Supersprint V2 Stepped Headers install with OEM Euro Cat pipe Pics,

This isn't going to be a DIY thread,
More of a picture thread for those curious, This week I have finally installed my Supersprint V2 headers along with all other exhaust components,

The setup is

Supersprint V2 Stepped headers ----> OEM Euro Z4M Cat Pipe ----> Supersprint Stainless X Pipe ----> Supersprint Powerloop Mufflers,

Firstly here are some pictures of the elusive Z4M Euro Cat pipe,
The only thing different that I can see to the USA pipe is the relocated O2 bungs and relocated EGT bung,
I used these bungs in my install and did not use the ones provided in the V2's,

Some pics,

Some pics of the cells inside,
I am unsure if the cell count for the Euro pipes are 400 like the USA M3 pipe, Or 200 Like the Euro M3 Pipe,

Ok so now on to the V2's

Waited nearly three months for these to arrive from Italy,
I missed the production run by a few days and had to wait for the next (typical) so thats what took so long,

Here are the V2's compared to the stock USA "piggy" headers,

Here is a floating mock up of the system,
Just laid out on the floor in my shop, It shows the new X-Pipe and the powerloops in place,

Here is another shot of the o2 bungs on the euro pipe,

and now some side by side of the OEM USA system that came off,

Overall I'm very very pleased with the outcome,
Power is indeed up, Something you can really feel, The throttle response is much more immediate, the car doesn't seem to bog down and is very responsive,

The noise did change, its a nice low down rumble on idle, and its actually very raspy and wet sounding under load, I guess that will take time to get used to,
Its very exotic sounding, Very Italian sounding, You would instantly know this is a European car from the noise,
and the powerloops do an awesome job of keeping it respectful,
You can't make the system drone even if you try, there is zero drone in any gear at any rev,
I really like that

This and 4.10 gears were the two mods I have liked the best, You can really feel the difference,

Yes they are fun

For those wondering you can relocate your o2's and EGT to these locations without needing to cut or extent your wiring harness one bit,
You just separate the rear o2's and EGT from the loom under the valve cover and run it along the drivers side of the transmission tunnel above the heat shields clipping it to the frame along the way,

This is what I did and with this setup there is no codes being thrown or any hint of a CEL

The car also seems to be getting stronger each time I'm using it, I just got back from a little spring drive with the top down and loved it

Excellent write-up and install!

J, can I ask: When you compare the Euro Section1 to ours side by side... does it look beefier in any way? Is the cell count greater? Or does it appear to be virtually identical in every way except for the O2's/EGT?

Looks like a mint system. Enjoy your new-found power!

Sound clips please! This is the setup I'd like to eventually get for my car, really excited to hear there's no drone!

Just to confirm, with this setup you don't get a CEL without a tune, right?

No difference in section 1 pipes visually,
I have no idea of the cell count,
With the E46 M3's the euro pipes had a 200 cell count vs the 400 the USA had,
Unsure of the Z4M is the same,

I'll try to get sound clips but its going to be hard to drive and hold a camera at the same time,

Dang it... I was hoping to see pictures of your perfectly groomed Zed but instead saw a whole bunch of pipes.

Nice mods mate. Glad you went the power mods route this time.

I will be doing a spring shoot this week,
Was going to do it today but had to be at family's house for Easter,

I have a few power mods, These def were the best,
These and the 4.10's have been the two you feel the most,

I need to do a full mod list,

That's what I thought too, but only because I can't imagine this 'rasp' sound happening from stock across the pond. However, they do look eerily the same which was confirmed above.

awesome car build!

Any issues with fitment/install? There is so much speculation as to the stepped headers both versions; i do not know what to believe anymore.

I would love to go V1 header with hiflo cats in near future to complete my setup.

No fitment issues,
Supersprint quality is top notch, It fit perfect with no adjustments needed anywhere,

No CEL's, no limp mode, no issues,

as for the Euro pipes being more restrictive, If you look at the E46 exhaust system (made by the same company) they use higher flowing 200 cell cats on the euro pipes as emissions levels are not as stringent over there,

Actually we only required Cats in England post 1993 cars!

I doubt the Z4M was as lucky, but I have no way of confirming the Z4M uses the same cell count for US/Euro,
Visually they are identical,
Take a look at Pal's euro header install thread as he has some pics of the US cat pipe inner's,

Great info on the wiring. I can't believe the trouble I went throught to extend my egt/O2's when I did not have to.

Top notch perfection as usual

Yeah after reading that link I showed you about the E46 M3's not needing to extend the wires I was crossing my fingers the Z4M would be the same,

Thankfully it was,
One o2 and the EGT had plenty of slack, Had to double them up a few times when clipping to the frame,

One o2 was only "just" able to make it with a few inches spare, So this one I shall keep my eyes on next oil service to make sure nothings rubbing,

I did over the period of the day,
Few hours out, break for a few hours, then a few hours putting it all in,
Wasn't too bad but I wouldn't recommend it to people without experience,
Esp doing the entire system like I did,

Def worth doing, fantastic feel from the car afterwards and sounds great,
