Heh, interesting. It's quite strange and frustrating how mysterious this all is and that no one seems to have a completely clear answer for what each region's software expects and what mechanical configurations satisfy those expectations...

I've talked to my shop many times concerning CEL and passing CA smog. They have experience with other M3 doing the Euro conversion with success. My shop had modified US cat without issue. I forgot if it was a Z4M or M3. I think failed modification on US section one is the post cat sensor not in the right postion. I will swing by the shop next week for their opinion.

No detailed pics of the setup Rob? It would help a LOT. Also, where'd u mount your EGT sensor?
