How To: Replace Engine Mounts

After a track day I noticed oil leaking from my engine mounts. I searched and could not find any DIY's on the job. It pretty easy but I took some pictures and made a little guide.

This was done on a 3.0L but I would assume the 2.5L is the same. No idea about the M's.

Note: My car has 76k miles on it and they were shot. I just bought the car but it appears to have been well taken care of, it's not beat up or anything.

Nice write up. Did you check the tranny mounts, since the will need to be replaced if your engine mounts looked like that. What is the cause of your leak?

I looked at the trans mounts and they look perfectly fine...no cracking or anything. The oil leak was the oil running out of the engine mounts. There's enough in them that it splattered all over the control arms and frame rails.

TIL there's oil in OEM mounts! nice writeup.

As far as ///M's go I did prety the same thing on mine, only I had access to a lift. Learned the hard way to do *everything* from the top before you lift the car and get start on the bottom. lol (just had to bring it down once)

The only difference when I did mine was I loosened the tranny mounts to keep as much tension off as possible while lifting the engine.

Nice write up and thanks for posting. Did you consider going with any of the aftermarket mounts?
