$6,000 is kinda steep... That's like $1,000 per lb! MIL Spec, hot isostatic pressed, precision cast, 6AL-4V titanium is $70 per lb.
But I also think the MSRP on Super Sprint stuff is way high also. I do admit, the system is very beautiful. |

If you want to get an idea of the best Japanese exhaust options I'd say contact some of the US based BMW tuners who work with JDM parts suppliers such as European Auto Source, Platte Forme AG, etc. Also, if you're really ready to drop the $, you can possibly try contacting Studie AG (http://www.studie.jp/). Not sure if they ship outside of JP but always worth a shot.

Just thought I would share this because I was curious myself and wanted to find out, but the Amuse Ericsson exhaust system for the Z4M is available for order from Amuse through Bulletproof Automotive. The system goes for $6195 + domestic shipping costs.
"As of right now we are pretty limited on photos for that exhaust. In terms of configurations, they only this exhaust as a whole cat/down pipe back system. As the cats are located on the down pipes this exhaust would not give you the option for non cats, but we can remove resonators throughout the midpipe for what we call the race version. For burn amounts, I have attached the diagram below that explains their options. Personally I have a thing for the B Tail with Gold ring haha." This was the reply back from an associate over at Bulletproof Automotive. Looks like I'll be getting myself ahold of one of these pretty soon! As this is very rare to come by as is anyways. |

Are you sure they weren't talking about the E89?
We don't have downpipes. The stock section 1 cats "may" (unconfirmed) include small resonators that can't be removed without taking out the cats too, but the only dedicated resonator is in the x-pipe.

He was speaking in general. When he meant downpipes he's referring to the section 1. Realize the associate isn't too familiar with our cars, but just has a general understanding of our exhaust system so he might not have been "technically" accurate when he was typing his response unlike a zpost forum member would respond. Don't look too deep into how he said something or if he was using the wrong technical words. But yes the system does exists and it would have hi flow cats and the option of having the resonators taken out for their "race version".
