Thinking about selling my M Coupe :(
Hey what's up everyone I have some things going on right now and I might have to sell my beloved M Coupe. Here are the details -
2008 Space Grey Metallic M Coupe Imola Red Interior Just under 53,000 miles No Nav, No power seats carbon interior. Minor rock chips on front bumper, steering wheel is a bit worn and a slight bit of wear on drivers side bolster. Other than that the car is in overall great shape. Minor accident reported on carfax when I bought the car I don't know what the damage was but I know the bumpers have been resprayed. I had the car inspected and it came back clean. Service 2 has been done. Car has BC coilovers with VMR 18'' wheels(I also have stock wheels and suspension). Not sure if I will sell with the wheels and suspension but I think I would prefer to. I just wanted to see what I might be able to get for it if I do have to sell it. Any input is well appreciated. |

sucks man, Hope you can keep it.
I'd kill for manual M seats. I have the power ones and there's not enough clearance between my helmet and the roof... |

Thanks everyone I truly appreciate the kind words. If I do have to sell does anyone have an idea of what I should start out at as far as asking price?

If I were selling it would have to be listed above $30k. It being rare and with mods. At any rate you probably won't get any quick money out of it. These cars have a very select market. Yours maybe even more so, since you spent two years looking for it. It seems like these cars either sell in a few days or it could take months and usually nothing in between.
If you need some money, it would probably be wiser to sell your wheels or other mods first.

I was actually looking for Alpine White with Imola Red no power seats no nav but that seemed as if it would never become available so when this came up I jumped on it. Being that I was so stubborn about the white one is what ate up much of that looking time lol. I'm gonna spend the next week or so thinking this all over and see what I can do to keep it. I def appreciate all the input.

If you're really in a pinch, perhaps check out carmax. You'll get a check right away, but I'd be shocked if they gave you an enthusiast price of $30k+. I'd bet that you're in the $23-25k range if you really wanna sell.

If you put everything back to stock, I would guess around $32k-$34k. You definitely benefit from the location (SoCal), although if you can get it up to San Francisco you could probably get even more.
If you don't put it back to stock, you might get lucky and still get that, but I would expect it to come down by $2k-$3k. Sounds ridiculous, but time and time again we've seen that stock cars sell for more than modded cars, unless you get reaaaallllly lucky and find just the right buyer. If you do want to sell it, I would get right on it before the fall. |

6 month is what is going to take to sell the car.
Get it out to local BMW meetings, let it be seen. It's all about right people at the right time. I've been offered a few times for my MZ4 Coupe already and it's one of the more common exterior colors (Interlagos Blue) and I've had to shake a stick to beat away some. Post it on San Diego BMW CCA chapter's FB page, post it on L.A. chapter's FB page, and see if you pique some interest. Car will fetch decent $$$ because it's the LAST of the great BMW ///Ms, but it takes the right person at the right time.
