Active Autowerke Prima SC kit for Z4M - Florida car needed

All - the Active Autowerke engineers in Miami are ready to adapt their relatively new Z4M ECU tune to support the $6200 Prima Supercharger kit developed for the E46 M3. Specs look very good. Track record on E46 is good.

AA products have an excellent reputation and I would love to see an alterative to the ESS '445' kit for a grand less. NOTE: this kit runs a vrery safe ~5 lb of boost and does NOT include a front-mounted intercooler and associated plumbing. The install is upgradeable to 'Stage 1' kit which includes FMIC and runs 9-10 lb of boost, and stage 2++ for those seeking 'low-flying aircraft' levels of performance.

Website Specs:
Key Features:

- HKS GTS8550 Supercharger System
- Active Autowerke Intake Manifold
- AA By-Pass Valve
- Active Autowerke Ram Air Pipe
- Active Autowerke Spec Green Filter
- Active Autowerke 8 Rib Pulley System w/ Belt
- High Capacity Fuel Injectors
- Colder Heat Range Spark Plugs
- Fully Upgradeable to Generation 6 Stage 2 System
- All Hoses, Clamps, etc (pre-assembled)
- Step by Step Instructions
- Oil Cooler for Supercharger
Performance Specs:

Boost: 4.5-5.5 psi
Horsepower: 445 HP
Torque: 340 Ft Lbs
I got this from AA today:
As far as the supercharger system, I just need a car here at our shop and we can create a system.

Sincerely,
Jean Sada | Force Induction Sales & Webmaster

So is there a Florida-based Z4M out there willing to work with AA to get this tune done?

Come on someone jump on this. Maybe they'll give u a discount on a SC + free install? If so, I will gladly ship my car down.

I talked to them about this when I was there getting my tune done. Then we talked some more the following week when they installed my headers. Im still debating it. Only thing holding me back is my warranty. I spoke to Carl and Slappy (their Chief mechanic) when i was there and they said it was very easy and totally doable. They just needed the car for 3-4 days. Hell for a good enough price I might be tempted to just pull the trigger hahaha.

What sort of price / discount are we talking and how long do they need the car?

I'm sure O-Cha may be down, he already has a strong relationship with Active through his shop, and I know he had a ESS Supercharger laying around waiting to install.

Nice to see more FI options coming to the Z4 M especially from a quality company like AA. My buddy had a stage 2 E46 M3 10lbs of boost and the water/meth at the intercooler pipe for cooling the AIT charge.....that car was a hammer!!!

If you want a ton of whine you're likely going to want an Eaton / Magnus style screw blower versus a centrifugal supercharger like those offered with most current kits. To do a screw blower on this car would require quite a bit of custom CNC work and casting, which is likely why this isn't an available option for such a low production target.

I'll call them tomorrow. I'm in Pompano so not that far from them.

I use my car as a DD, so it all depends how long it will be out of commission.

I'll update everyone tomorrow.

the centrifugal blower is very quiet, but they still make an interesting whistle and the by-pass on my kit has a very noticeable psssh when shifting at high rpm. enough where people turn their heads when i drive by. i was passing an opposite direction car a few months ago while shifting and he turned around and flagged me down to ask me what in the hell I had under the hood I showed him and his jaw dropped. the induction sound is also very loud and sounds mean. it's hard to describe the induction sound...it just sounds like a pissed off S54 looking for a fight

My car was estimated at 60 days and as O-cha pointed out before, you multiply auto work by at least 2. My car was gone for 120 days, but I coudn't be happier with the price and quality of work. They ran into issues with the intercooler and the piping involved for VT2-500, but the Vt1-445 would have been ready in 30 days easy! I seriously doubt you will get you car back in less than 2 weeks even with a non-intercooler kit. Intercooler kit....forget it! your looking at maybe 2 months.
