Z4 Coupe Rear Shock Absorber
Hi Guys,
My rear shocks are worn and due for a replacement. I don't track the car, so what do you guys suggest? Should I go for the OEM Bilstein? Or are there any alternative replacement? Thanks so much! |

IMO you should replace all 4, not just the rear ones. And OEMs are SACHs, not Bilstein. And for the cost of OEM replacement you can probably get a set of Bilstein sports or Bilstein HD, or Koni Yellows that perform better and last longer...And probably save a few bucks. Maybe not enough to get all 4.

BavAuto still has Bilstein HD on sale.
However they don't actually have any. I bought them on 05/28 and they're still on back order.

I replaced mine all around with Bilstein HDs at about 42k miles. The stockers were pretty well shot by then. Perfect match for the stock springs, and should last 100k miles or beyond. I'm happy with the choice.

Try calling around to other dealers, and see if they'll match BavAuto and ship from stock. Problem solved if someone will play ball. Shox.com would be a good place to start.

Koni's are 25% off through the end of August at most suppliers, including Tire Rack.

The clowns already charged me.
I leave tomorrow for 2-3 weeks in Australia. Hopefully they'll be here when I get back.
