What tyres (tires) should I buy from my Z4MC?

I have a z4mc with 19" BBS CH wheels. My current tyres are Yokohama's which the previous owner had on the car. They are approx 4yrs and I've done 30,000kms and they still have loads of tread so I'm assuming they are a very hard compound which is contributing to have very hard and rough ride.

So I'm thinking of replacing them with a softer compound tyre. What tyres do you recommend?

Alternatively I was thinking of getting some 18" M3 wheels with some nice tyres?

Note our roads are pretty bad in Sydney Australia.

They also need to be good in the dry and wet (we dont get snow here )

Thanks

I'd avoid 19s with bad roads. The 18s are better. Put a 245/40 and 275/35 combo on there with Michellin PSS tires. Great dry traction and unbelievably good wet traction as well. Massive downpour at Laguna Seca and the PSS provided flawless and confident traction. Good ride too.

You could get more grip with Dunlop Dirreza ZIIs but they don't offer the same superb wet weather handling.

That's my two cents.

PS2s are the previous generation. Usually only available in limited sizes & quantities. PSS is the replacement. Better by all accounts.

^good choice. not had personal experience with michelin pss' myself, but they are among the most popular street performance tires here in singapore. i am on a new set of goodyear f1a2's all around in slightly wider 235/40 and 265/35, and they have been faultless thus far.

Good choise! 18" Michelin Pilot Super Sports all the way. Best sport tire out there, bar none.

If they are way back ordered (as they do get), the 18" Continental's Extreme Contact DW's have come a LONG way, and are now in the same ballpark as the Michelins. Not as smooth/quiet. But grip is right up there now. NOTHING like the stock Conti's that came on the Z4M (those were awful).
