Post Vibrating Noise

New to this, i have an 03' M54 with 88k miles. When I get to around 20mph i hear a metal rattle coming from both sides of the car in the engine compartment, i thought it was the cv joints but its not. Can anyone give advice before i bring it in for service. So I can fix it before i'm on the side of the road.

Check your heat shields, maybe a bolt came loose? Might be the ones under your car, this is if it sounds like a tin type of rattle.
