Black and White Roundels
I want to replace all my roundels with black and white versions. I currently have the overlay stickers but want something more permanent.
I know the steering wheel one can't be replaced, but found this sticker. Which instead of being just the triangles is the whole thing so it should be pretty durable. For the wheels there's these. What I can't find is front, rear and side markers. Anyone have any links or sizes I can use to find them? thanks!

Searched the forums a little more carefully and found:
Front roundel 70mm Sides and rear 82mm link Wheels 68mm link Steering 45mm link Does that all sound correct? Thanks. Also if someone has a link to the hood roundel, wasn't able to find one.

OEM front is 72mm but I can only find 74mm. If you do some trim on front and on emblem itself, if fits well from what Ive read. Seems roadster rear is 82mm and coupe rear 74mm?
Here's some good info.... http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=381123

Good thread! thanks mousitch. That thread says 70mm hood though. Can't seem to find 70 or 72 for that matter.

There is a 70 out there but its for the rear of a 135. Really thick and would be a bear to grind down without damage. Trust me I thought about it. But its only in CF and OEM colors.

Oh I see, I read the thread more carefully, he modified the bumper to fit the front roundel. I also noticed it's twisted six, I'll poke him to see if he can comment on what size he used and how much he had to modify the bumper.

Under the roundel on the front bumper is a raised are about 1"x1-1/2" that needs to be cut out. Nothing major. Minor Dremel work. The whole would be covered by the roundel. This should help the 74mm lay flatter. Then you need to put two dabs of silicone on the top and bottom and tape down tight. This should help get any curve that is remaining out and should look damn good. Im going with the Bimmian HQ sticker overlays for now. Just ordered. Glossy CF. Its just so hit and miss on this Chinese aftermarket as far as qaulity. The ones I sold Phoniex were real HQ.

Mine measures 74mm and still has the correct space between the recessed area.
Moustash has paid attention to how I did it and speaks of it almost verbatim as I DIY'd in the other thread. It's been on there now for what, 2-3 years now with no problem. Same with all the rest on the car and mine sits outdoors all year! |
