Hi everyone. Long time Bimmer fan, long time Z fan specifically, but for some odd reason I'm just now getting around to getting one. I had a 981 Boxster but we swapped it for a 'more sensible' Macan S last spring. Missed the top down experience, so I started searching for a fun, relatively low priced, 2-seat roadster. That search started with Miatas, but after visiting several dealers to look at "perfect" cars that had dents, dings, scratches, MOLD behind the seats (!!!) I said to hell with them. Decided it might be worth paying a little more to get into a Bimmer, and as luck would have it, a pretty much perfect one was available at a local specialty enthusiast dealer. Went and drove it, loved it, talked numbers, and drove it home yesterday.
So now I'm the proud owner of a 2003 BMW Z4, 3.0i, with Premium, Sport, Convenient, Xenons, and Heated Seats. So pretty much loaded for 2003. It has a whopping.....22k miles! It is silver exterior with red interior. And best of all, it has a 6 speed manual transmission! As much as I enjoy the sport auto in our M235i, and definitely the PDK in our Macan, I am absolutely loving rowing through the gears on this car. Anyway, just wanted to say hi! Like I said, I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally get around to picking up a Z4, but I am so happy I did. I can't wait for some cooler fall weather to really enjoy the car. Alas, my pictures are too big to post. Check the 'other' place to see them if you want to. In the meantime, I'll try to get a resizer to conform to the forum requirements. |

Congrats and welcome.
It sounds like you lucked out finding an '03 with only 22K on it.

i am new to bmw, but not new to cars. sold my sierra a few onths ago and have been searching ever since for the right z4. proud owner 7/20/16 of a 2003 z4 roadster, 83k miles, black, 3.0i. a bit rough, but bringing it back is part of the fun. top works along with everything else. missing some trim/bezel pieces here and there. already bought those pieces, should be here in the next few days. bought an e46 momo hub for my aftermarket steering wheel, stubby antenna.... it's nice having a car to work on again.

Nice! I've got a MR in the same color. How do you find the Cayman S compared to the MC? I've driven both extensively, but always nice to hear other people's opinions.

Good Day from the Treasure Coast of Florida.
After many years of saving back in 2007 I bought a new Z4MR in interlagos blue. I can honestly say I love this car more now then the day I drove it home. It is pretty much stock with the exception of some gee gahs like a removable hard top and luggage rack. My bimmer has been extremely reliable with about the only thing which needed replacement was the wiper pump. It also carries me to dive sites up and down the Florida coast....it actually can carry three HP steel hundred tanks, dive gear and my jump and O2 kits.... Here are a couple of quick images: Last edited by bimmerjim07; 09-02-2016 at 08:46 PM.. |

Another newbie!
Hello! I just bought a 2008 Z4 3.0i a couple weeks ago. It only has 35.500 miles on it and I got a great deal on it. I do wish it had the premium package with the bluetooth, but unfortunately it doesn't.
For those of you who didn't have bluetooth when you purchased your car what did you end up doing to get it? I need to be able to listen to music from my iphone! |

New 2.8
Hey Guys,
I'm fairly new here. I haven't owned a BMW in almost 20 years until now. I've been searching for a Z4 for a while. When I learned the current Z4 production ended August 22nd, things became more urgent. I first thought I wanted either a 2.8 manual or a 3.5 auto. I only found 1 2.8 manual in NC. Looked at one "new" 2.8 auto locally. It was listed as a 2016, but the build date was April 2015...still haven't figured that one out. Last week I went to see the car I bought. It was neither the color combo or trans that I thought I wanted, but I fell hard. It has a build date of June 2016, so it's late in the production run. They offered a remarkable deal, so it's now in my garage with my 2014 Boxster that does have a 6 sp. The cars are drastically different, and I'm still trying to figure out which one I like best. |

Hello,
Born and raised in Louisiana, traveled for the military, bought my Z4 in Vegas, now my Z4 has now been in more countries than a decent portion of Americans. I'm now heading to Nor Cal area and from there who knows. I love track days and just cruising around, but kinda want to get into that 05-06 M Coupe. I did do this, slowly, but i'm happy with keeping the car shiny. To note, I had a tire beginning to chord and would send vibrations through the car at 100+. I also had a trunk full of luggage. Oh and I watched way too many nurburgring crash videos prior to going out. |

Ah thanks on the year, I've been in Okinawa for the last three years so I've mostly neglected z4 things to avoid being even more upset over not having my car.

Hi, I'm David, drive a 3.0 l 2006 Z4 convertible, had it from new, love driving it through the winding lanes of Wales where I live.
Recent experience with a dysfunctional key remote which may be a help to others. I inadvertently left my keys jammed so that the opening button was depressed over night. In the morning the roof was down and the key battery was flat. I took the car for a longish (170 miles) and went through the reprogramming process easily found on line. Result; key didn't work. However, the following morning I used the key without thinking and it worked. It has worked ever since. I have no idea why but maybe this experience will help others, if only by delaying the onset of despair! |
