Best way to weigh the car?
whats the easiest way to weigh the car? I heard about weight stations for trucks, but don't know how that whole process works

I know this is going to sound weird, but do you have a dump (i.e. a place you take all your garbage to) in your area? Most of them have weigh stations. I know ours does, and they charge you by the pound. So I go in and get weighed, and then get weighed on the way out, and they charge me the difference.
Might be worth a shot. Chris

I bought a truck that needed a weight for some reason, DMV told me to go to a recycling center/weighing station. I drove up to the window, they asked for my weight and then printed out the measurements to give to DMV.

+1 - do this, most accurate weight. Find a local shop that sets up race suspension, they might do it for ya.

hehe, I'm lucky because there's a freight weigh station about 15 freeway minutes away from my house and it's on 24/7. I literally just drive up onto it and look across the street at this meter, and it tells me to + 20 lbs. how much I weigh

Most truck stops have scales. Just go to the main cash register and say you want to weigh your vehicle. You pay the fee, drive around to the scales, hen get the result. Weighing a Z4 should give them a laugh.

I got my weight when I had my car corner balanced. 3175lbs with alittle over a half tank of gas. That was with my OEM ZCPs. I am hoping with seats, smaller battery and some Apex ARC-8s I can be under 3100lbs

Mine was 3274lbs (without me) with about 10-11 gallons of gas, OE wheels and full interior. Balance was 49.5% front/50.5% rear with me in it. With the headers (-10 lbs), StopTech front brakes (-4lbs or so) and the GT2-H wheels (a little lighter than OE but RE-11s are heavy), I may be around 3280lbs.

Is that 3175 figure with the aftermarket headers, exhaust, etc...? Does your car have premium package? It's very light.

My car is full option minus the extended leather. That weight is with all my current mods which would include the full exhaust which I bet is close to 60lbs.

My car came in @ 3180 lbs. with 1/4 tank of gas and the following mods:
- Volk TE37's w/ PS2 fronts & NT05 rears - Sparco Rev seat w/ Macht Schnell floor mounts (driver side only) - SS Race muffler cans - removed all the mobility equipment on top of the battery in the trunk Same setup with full tank of gas was 3260. I've yet to weigh the car with headers done, so I'll report back later on |
