Auto dimming side mirror (driver's side)

My driver's side mirror is partially turning orange-ish... where can I just buy the glass only? or is it a film that needs to be replaced? I need to get one ASAP as it's getting on my nerves.. thanks! if you can tell me where and how much would be very much appreciated!

The fluid is not user servicable.....it is an involved process to get it in there in the first place. (Used to work where they make them). It is also caustic so if its leaking get it off as soon as possible.

Those prices are way too high. Do some research and home work. You can find this same item for 196.00

That looks like the euro version outside mirror. Here are comparison pics from ECS Tuning. It appears that you might have to reuse the ring from your old mirror.

I actually have this version on both driver and passenger sides of my car. I was unwilling to pay almost $300 per side for the US version.

Do you not like the Euro version or is that the US just cost more? What do you like better, the Euro or US version? I didn't even know the euro had different mirrors. Is the entire mirror Aspherical/blindspot or is it just the outer edge past where that line is?

I have the convex mirror on my non driving side, its great. Its only the outer 1/3rd thats convex, yep where the line is.
Great, but your paying all that cash for a dimming side mirror?

And yes. You have to resuse your black outlines, which is very, very difficult if they are any sort of sun damaged.

I didnt reuse the black outlines, without them it gives a much cleaner, modern look.

Holy shit, just looked at that pic from ecs webby, 369us for one mirror..LOL

Vanne,
You mention the "black outlines", are you talking about the black plastic trim around the perimeter of the glass. I didn't know that was removable. Isn't there a large gap around the glass with the black trim missing? Do you have any pictures of your mirror with the black outline removed?

Thanks for posting the pic, it does look cleaner without the thick plastic outer trim on the glass. It looks like it might even add a small amount of extra real estate to the mirror. Does it just unclip from the glass?

I didn't have a preference either way other than the fact that i was looking to save money. I actually got lucky, I paid $135 for the whole driver side mirror assembly including glass.

Wow, that's a great price for the whole mirror considering what just the glass cost. The blind spot mirrors would be nice since the car has such large blind spots.
