The interesting aspect of this is that time will tell. Remember the Mercedes 300SL wasn't popular. Had to take the steering wheel apart to get in and high rocker panel insured that any woman climbing aboard in a dress made sure she had clean and attractive knickers on, as she was going to display them to anyone that cared to look. A restored version of the 300SL is current selling in excess of 500K.
The Z4 M coupe is a better car in all regards and pretty much as rare, although,t will stand the test of time better and there will be more of them, as the 300SL had zero rust prevention in undercarriage.
And, as far as holding it for 40 years, I'm figuring that at my current age--60, if I can make another ten years, the advances in Stem Cell treatment will give me another 30 years, plus, gggg

First off, nothing is rare in CA.
There's a good percentage of M coupes that have been either converted to race cars, parted out or totaled. And as the years go on I have a strong feeling that the trend will continue. In 20 years they'll be as sought after as a good e30 M3 and in 30 years, probably will start hitting auctions for lots of money.
Good luck getting those Stem Cell treatments if you're on government health care.

Au contraire mon frere, it would seem common sense and fiscal responsibility in government is as rare there as it is in Washington, DC!

Merry Christmas to all!

I've got the 306th VIN but technically the 274th "customer" car.
Wait, are you saying my '06 Imola RED on RED was a sexy village whore??!

EDIT: Never mind, the Imola Red car we flogged in the press fleet was red on black.

How about non-M cars? Where do I find that? LW75947 would that make it the 947th one made. I know it was made in July of 2008.

Nope, Red on Red with Wood trim. She feels very fresh and tight, like a vi*gin indeed! Previous owner must of only "hold hands" and "kiss (on occasion) with her"

*I was referring to your earlier post. Hope this does not offend anyone and is not too inappropriate. Please delete if it is*

#19 actually if my records are correct. There was 1 red-red-wood +nav 2 cars ahead of you, and there's 2 red-red-cf cars (#7 and #12). You are one of 8 red-red-wood cars, so that counts for something!

Look forward to seeing your car tomorrow. Haven't yet seen an Imola coupe or wood trim in person.

My car (#924) is not nearly that rare unless you count the extended leather, in which case it'd be 1 of 15 (black-black extended-aluminum).

I can't find that file where it has all that cool info, but I know mine is #988 and 1 of 6 Interlagos Blue-Sepang-Aluminum combo.

I like the idea of engraving this number on a Whalen shift kit. If I hadn't just bought a new ZHP shorty I'd go with this! Main reason I didn't go with WSK was I didn't know what to engrave!

Porsche does it . . . why not BMW?

I think it would be great if somebody could figure that out..it might be a nice way to capture how special our cars are...even on resale. I could see very small tastefully done plate place somewhere in our car. Even ond MGbs and etc.. used to do this.

Just a thought
I used to own a Porsche Boxster. (Z4 is better.) Porsche offers a program where an owner can send in their VIN and about $30. In return, the owner receives a certificate (suitable for framing) which includes production date, options and production number (I think.) A nice thing to put a frame on and then hang on the garage wall. I wish BMW did that.

nobosy wanted those absolute flop now their worth BIG BUCKS!!! lol

its only worth what someone will pay, these cars were ahead of their time and even now look fresh and fun.

less and less cars are moving sculpture with a price tag of under 100k, we are lucky in that respect.
so whatever the case may be, enjoy and keep em if ya got em!

how come the production number differs from this spreadsheet?

https://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?k...5a1pQZHc&hl=en

which one is correct?

mine is LL93606 can anyone confirm its production number? I think it would be nice to know what number it is out of 1815.

I am thinking of making a custom plaque for this.

If you look at the clip below, this e36 m3 euro spec Canadian version comes with plaque from factory to celeberate being one of only 45 imported from euro with euro spec. (see it at 2:35) I think im gonna follow this and make a plaque, put inside of the glove box.
