where to get the rear center brake light

ok so for some reason the rear center brake light on my 2008 Z4 ROADSTER cracked. nothing around the light on the trunk is damaged, just somehow the light cracked. I thought BMW might cover under warranty but they wont and want $300 to replace it.

Anyone know where i can get one. The one i have is red but i have seen some people with a clear one, i dont care which one it is, new or used.

thanks guys

For $300 were they trying to sell a full light assembly? That seems really high for just the lense.

I just ordered one yesterday.

There is a red one and a clear one.. you choose.

I have ordered many things from Tischer BMW.

Check them out on www.getbmwparts.com

The part numbers are

63256917378 RED

63256930246 CLEAR

Take a look.. type in the part numbers.. the clear is slightly cheaper somewhere around $68 and the red is about $75.

You may want to get the new springs and washers too since they were redesigned to prevent the cracking since it was caused by too much spring pressure.

Good Luck.. It takes 10 minutes to swap out. Write if you need any assistance.

He has a coupe, Those part numbers are for a roadster,

Also BMW will replace this light under warranty,
Its a known issue with the roadsters and I have had one replaced,
Best bet, Either go to another dealer or call BMW customer service and complain that your selected dealer wont replace something under warranty
