Purchasing M Coupe
Hello guys,
Need some advice since i'm thinking about purchasing a M Coupe. The car im looking at is a 07 which is fully loaded minus the extended leather. Dealer is asking for 35k and the cars has about 17k miles on it. I am a bit worried about the car not being CPOed tho. Would you guys think that is a good price or should i hassle them a bit lower? Would it not be wise to purchase a non CPOed M Coupe? Also how reliable are the M Couples as this car is going to be my daily driver. Thanks! |

Though it's not CPO, the car is still under warranty, so you're covered. If you're so inclined, you can have the got CPO'ed by a dealer at your own expense if you want. I personally wouldn't bother - I'd just set aside the couple grand it would cost to CPO it for any unscheduled repairs.
As for the price - that seems a bit high to me - they should be able to come down 2 or 3 grand, maybe more. Offer $30k and see what they counter-offer. |

I don't think that price is too high, considering it's a 07. Most dealers will argue that they won't move on the price based on mean auction prices, etc.
I'm hoping to get a 06 for $26,500 with 32k miles on it. Needs new tires though, but they're the RFT's so not a problem. |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I just offered them 30k and will see what they say from here now on. Even i think 30k for this kind of car is a bit too low and will most likely get shot down. My target price would be around 32-33 hopefully.

the lowest they can give me is 34k. The internet sales guy told me that they dont have much profit on the car and that he is able to take off 500 - 1000 off the price only since the MSRP is over 60k.
What do you guys think? |

MSRP is irrelevant on a used car. What's important is the current market price for the car, and what they paid for the car at trade-in or auction. Your best tool are comparables - what other similar cars are being offered at.
