Clearly, it was an "aside" comment of what goes through my head personally. The difference between stands and a lift, is that the lift is bolted to the ground.

But there is a higher polar of moment being that the car is 6 feet off the ground, which is more dangerous in an earthquake. On stands the car is 18" off the ground.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
