^ a nozzle will heat too quickly.
I used the low setting with open end.
The material is thin add heats up VERY fast.
It doesn't need to be too hot to reshape it.

IMO it doesn't make sense to have a crappy hole through the liner.

As you can see the bumper edge leaves a lot of room to push the liner back a bit with a little heat.
4 degrees of camber and a proper (IE wide sectional width) makes it a bit more than 5mm I'd much rather have grip and a slight hole in my plastic liner, than go to a smaller tire size and mess with a heat gun but that's just me.

Before you do that, pop those rivets and bend the liner back a little to see how much the back of that bumper flares back in. I have a feeling, just judging from where the rivets are located and how they are mounted on the bumper, that even if you were able to heat up the liner and bend it back, it'll just rub on the bumper instead of the liner.

And going to 245/40/18 not only gives you 5mm of width clearance to the edge of the liner, it also gives you .15" (3.8mm) of height clearance, especially if you're considering lowering the car.

Frankly, I'd just go to 245/40/18s and be done with it. I run especially wide tires at that size (Nitto NT-01 for the track, Toyo R1-R/Falken Azenis RT-615K for the street...All tires that tend to have a wider footprint at the same size as their other performance tire counterparts) and even at 245/40/18, I needed additional negative camber from camber bolts to clear on the ET38 offset. And it BARELY clears without rub on the track where full compression on one side or the other is happening all the time and rubbing, even slight, will damage the tire within LAPS.

does anyone have some nice pics of the fender lip? I want to see if I am rubbing. My lip is a little beat up and I am not sure if its from the elements or if the fender makes contact with the tire. The tire doesnt have any evidence of making contact with the fender lip though.
