Question for those running Urathane transmission mounts (UUC or others): Notice any additional NVH in freezing temps?
I have the UUC blacks with the enforcer cups. They've been good through summer/fall. More NVH than stock, but not annoyingly so. It's been in the 20's for the last couple weeks and if my car sits for more than a day or two, it's really rough running for the first 5 minutes or so. LOTS of NVH especially around 1200-1400 rpm. After if warms up, it's fine/normal. I'm considering at least pulling the cups if not going to Rogue rubber mounts. Anyone else experience similar? |

The durometer of urethane is highly effected by temperature. A spike in durometer of 20% would certainly cause an increase in NVH. There is also a chance of tearing the urethane since the toughness drops along with temperature.
In reality, the entire car gets stiffer when the temperatures drop. Your engine mounts probably get stiffer too. Most of the plastics and adhesives in the car probably have a significant rise in stiffness amplifying existing NVH the car had even when it's warm. |

I know Ill sound like a wuss to 2/3 or the rest of the country... but Washington winters usually hover in the low 30's on the coldest of days (so pretty mild). It's been blue sky and sun, but in the teens and 20's the last week+ and it's COLD!!! 10-degrees is a noticeable difference, for sure. |

Remove your cups. Should fix it. I have UUC mounts and no real change when cold.
