X-pipe Options for the Z4M
Hey guys i've been looking for an X-pipe for the Z, as of now the only options i have come across are Rogue, Super-sprint, and DKF. Is there anything else out there? I have heard people have flat spots with the SS x-pipe around 4500rpm compared to stock. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys - Tommy

i still need to check out your car tommy lol. i know fluidmotorunion (i think thats the company name) did a custom exhaust for a z4m that looked amazing lol, but beyond what you have mentioned i do not believe there is nothing else out there. eventually i kind of want to get a custom 2.5" diameter x pipe made if i ever get epic heades and a ss s pipe lol
edit, double negative, i do not believe there is anything else* lol |

Wait on DKF. Super sprint needs adapters and my rogue didn't fit properly. I bought both. Rouge installation requires bending of rear support to avoid rubbing on passenger side pipe which I fully do not recommend.

you would have to find a used one, but BMS had one before they stopped making them. I have theirs on my car. fits perfect, no flat spots *with my evolve tune*, mates with the catless section 1 I have, as well as both the stock and stromung cans

Yes, please let us know! Maybe i need to re-tune my butt-dyno to feel this? In all seriousness, I dont think you will gain much power with the X-pipe but it definitely adds some serious sound (as i have the Supersprint mated with the Race cans)

I have been told first hand by some SS X-pipe owners that they felt a small loss in torque around 4500rpm. If they have indeed remedied the problem than i'm not aware of it. This problem has been confirmed by 3 different owners to me as of now and one shop owner - Tommy

x-pipe yielded higher peak powers, and no effect on mid-range for me personally. However, headers + uncatted/unresonated section1 definitely had peak gains up high in the rev range; while sacrificing a tad bit of mid-range torque.

Also curious... Just bought a set of euro headers from Donavan and gonna order the install kit from ECS. I'd like to do a catless section 1 and x-pipe, mufflers all at the same time.
I'm down to make my car LOUD. It won't be my daily. |

I'm torn between waiting for DKF's X pipe or going with Evolve's CSL Airbox/tune. But for purposes of this thread, I'd wait for the DKF X-pipe.

I can't comment on flat spots because my old Z had serious ECU/DME issues rendering it a PITA to tune and the new motor just feels stronger/more linear across the board. New car also has OEM intake which results in no bogging for flat spotting. I'm almost certain my AFE intake contributed to flat spotting and suffered drive ability all in the name of that S54 song sound input is prlly the same.
