Dead miss in the engine

2004 E85 3.0 with sport package 69k miles. I noticed recently when I am at a stoplight I have a dead miss in the engine, about once every 20 to 30 seconds. It seems like it runs fine under acceleration or anytime off idle. I don't know a whole lot about the motors, I have only had the car 2 months. Any suggestions where to start looking for the problem?

I'm surprised you don't have a 'service engine soon' light??

Only light I have on is ABS. It idles perfectly until a hesitation that you can feel through the car and hear. RPM's drop just for a moment. It last as long as a backfire. Sorry, don't know how to explain it other than misfire.

Is the AC on?

I checked that this morning. I was sitting at the light and it started missing even more so I turned off the AC and it didn't seem to change anything. I personally think it may be a bad coil or wires.

I'm surprised you don't have a check light. I had a slight miss with check light that was simply caused by 5 month old fuel.

I would say check the disa valves inside the manifold...one of the flaps could've broken off and it's creating a blockage in one of the ports...seems low mileage for disa failure however it is an 04. My check engine light would come on showing misfire in 3 &6 intermittently...light would come and go because without air the broken flaps would kinda rest and then on accel would kick up and create blockage...only thing that comes to mind

I had some misfires with bad rear o2’s but the CEL didn’t come on initially as it was still too “early” for complete failure of the sensors.

What WickedNy said.
Bad coil or wires will usually give you worse misfire under acceleration.
