Noise

Hello,

Just took my new/used M Coupe from Calgary to just east of Toronto and back across the Northern states, total of 5600 miles almost 9000 kms, great time.

My question to you guys is; at cruising speeds 60-75 mph, I notice a strange sound which sounds like water flowing through a hose, it happens every three minutes. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this sound, is it normal? I am guessing it has to do with a valve opening sending fluid to the block heater, but not sure.

Thanks for the help.

I've never heard that sound at that speed on any road.

You're just talking about an intake sucking in the air. It's more of a whistle sound rather than hose.

It's not the intake, it is a liquid flowing sound for sure. My wife thinks I am nuts for even hearing the sound, but as I stated it occurs every three minutes at highway speeds.

Had this problem with a toyota truck. There was an air bubble in the coolant lines. Took the rad cap off and sqeezed all the hoses to get the air out. Had to add antifreeze as I did this. Took a bit but seemed to work.

He hasn't posted since 2010, so methinks you're not going to get an answer on this thread.
