My experience at BMW Toronto

I arrived at BMW Toronto this morning to have an OEM alarm installed.

I booked the appointment a week in advance and I was informed by the service advisor that it would take approximately 1.5 hours to complete the installation.

I have never been so dissapointed in my life. It turns out that they would need to have car for the whole day and that no loaner car would be provided. I fought hard for the loaner car and they simply would not budge.

This is the pinnacle of unprofessionalism and a complete insult. For obvious reasons I cannot be without a car for the whole. They screwed up, wasted my time and gas. They simply did not care and gave me that attitude like I'm just another customer.

Honestly, this dealership has hundreds of cars sitting on their lot and collecting dust. Would it really break them to provide me a loaner car? I don't even care if it was an old crappy 318.

Anyways, my advice to the entire community. Do not get service at BMW Toronto.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at BMW Toronto. I have hear also of bad service at a Vancouver dealer as well. I wonder how the dealers in Montréal are doing? Mine (BMW Laval) has been excellent so far.

Cheers.

I recommend Parkview BMW. Very good service, free loaner vehicle. pbdmk recommends Town & Country.

Stay away from Budd's Oakville or Hamilton.

Agreed. I usually do BMW Mississauga, but in this case, I wanted to try BMW Toronto. What a mistake.

I believe the general concensus is that BMW dealerships tend to be pricks to customers who didn't buy the car from their own dealership.

Seems to be a sort of unwritten policy.

It's absolutely disgusting the way they treat people. I guess I made a mistake walking in there with an alarm that I didn't buy from them.

I've had some dodgy service issues when taking my car to BMW Toronto, hence they don't get to service it, ever. Which is suprizing as the Motorcycle service guys are utterly amazing, best service I've ever had. Just an FYI this dealership isn't owned by BMW Canada (corporate) anymore, it's owned by the same people who own Parkview BMW. I'd try speaking with the general manager (politely) as see what type of resolution you can get (reduced cost, free loaner) or just go elsewhere with a letter to the GM informing them how they will not be getting any of your business.

I've heard many similar remarks about crap service from number of dealers. That includes Toronto as well as the one on Kennedy. Also another friend of mine has mentioned the same thing about Parkview being very good for service.

Strange that service from BMW D/T and Parkview differ so much even under same ownership...

Parkview's owners recently took over BMW Toronto.

I swore never to return to BMW Toronto based on prior experience, but a friend convinced me to go again and there's a night and day difference.
