I Think My Fuel Pump Is Bad

I got an engine check light, and I hooked up my reader keeps saying fuel. So i got this really overpowering smell of gas it went away then she sputtered a few days later. But she gets up and moves like she always does, but i'm betting it's the fuel pump. I'm asking because i'm in Japan and will more than likely order from the states but just thought I'd ask some opinions before I did it.

Get the exact codes. If the tank ventilation system has issues that will throw a code. Gas smell makes me suspicious of filler, vents, etc.

When I get home today I'll code her up, but I swear I remember a p1086 code but I'll make sure.
