Exclamation Please Help with Nitto NT-01 Sizing on E46 M3 Wheels

Ok, so this is a bit of a strange request, but maybe somebody can help. I have extra sets of 18" E46 M3 wheels and would like to use one of them for track tires. Specs are:

E46 M3 18" Wheels:
F: 18x8 ET47
R: 18x9 ET26

Stock Z4M Wheels (which I don't even have, but for comparison purposes):
F: 18x8 ET42
R: 18x9 ET30

I would like to get Nitto NT-01s in 240/45 18 front and 275/35 18 rear. Sounds like people have done this successfully with the stock Z4M wheels. Does anybody see any problem with doing the same on the E46 M3 wheels?

Inner clearance on the front is reduced by 5mm, but I suppose I could always use a spacer if it was an issue. Rear inner clearance is increased by 4mm, and outer clearance reduced by 4mm, but I don't see that being an issue.

Not to complicate things, but my current wheels and tires are as follows (and I've had no problems with rubbing even on the track.)

F: 19x8.5 ET30 235/35 19
R: 19x10 ET37 275/30 19

Any help or comments are welcome. Thanks.

In terms of the wheels themselves, the rear will fit no problem, fronts may need a small (3mm or 5mm) spacer. If you're running camber washers the spacer (5mm) is probably going to be needed since the wheel/tire (245/40 is a tall tire) ET47 will rub. If you're running coils, it's also a good bet you'll need spacers to clear the strut. I'd just run a 5mm spacer because I wouldn't want to reduce the overall track of the front vs. stock.

You can run those type/size tires on the stock sized rims. The Hack and others do. Sidewall is stiff enough (unlike street tires such as the PSS) where you won't see negative results from using the bottom of the recommended rim size range. Of course, running that size tire on a 8.5" or 9" wheel would be better, but if you already have the wheels.

My track wheels are the E46 M3 wheel you reference and I have Toyo R-888 tires mounted; 245/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear. I have a 10mm spacer up front to allow clearance on calipers and the TC Kline DA coil over struts.

Thanks to both of you. I will probably pick up a pair of spacers, probably 10mm to clear any future brake or strut upgrades. Jim, from looking at the photos of your car it appears that you have at least 10mm of clearance on the outside of the rear tire and there wouldn't be any problem running a 275, would you agree?
