VF570 Supercharger Dyno

Just a quick pull vid for those that are fans of the SuperSprint exhaust sound

Output is pretty low though....
My highest yields have only been 390rwhp and 300rwtq

Here is the most recent dyno sheet:

The sound is 10x louder and deeper than the video implies with huge pops. Definitely the best sounding exhaust out there.

Too bad that the power still isn't there for your VF570 kit after going to LA to get it fixed. I'm sure you'll sort it out

Yeah, you are around 100rwhp less? Does the car feel like it is pulling timing, misfiring, or knocking? Any codes?

Very interested to hear what issues you find, that's a pretty big drop in power relative to what it should be. GL

What's odd is that there have been absolutely no codes, and the car has driven perfectly fine. I drive it daily and am very sensitive to any and all changes.

I miss how the car drove so smoothly when I had just bolt-ons and the Active Autowerk tune.
With VF's 570 kit, I'm running 550cc injectors, and it's just not perfectly smooth driveability-wise. I was told it has to do with the way our injectors run, but I recently test-drove an E92 M3 with a VF625 kit and it was smooth as a baby's bottom

As of right now, the power is consistent amongst three different types of dynos that I've strapped the car to. I guess I can't complain about the consistency, but I'm definitely disappointed that the power is so low compared to where it should be.

So my next question is what does VF say? Are you making the amount of boost you should be? Sounds like there might be an issue with the blower....it is the main component to you making boost, so if you're not making the boost you should, it has to be the blower

Dietsch Werks uses a SuperFlow dyno and those numbers could be way different than what you get on DynaPack or DynoJet. I remember Beta feeling like he pulled low numbers on that dyno as well.

Did you happen to get a baseline from your old AA setup at Dietch Werks before doing this? I know most of your previous run have been on a DynaPack, so maybe you should try that again to see how it compares. Or if you want to compare to the rest of internet, Dynospot Racing has a DynoJet.

They actually got tired of it and have a correction factor for DynoJet-like numbers, and I'm pretty sure that's the chart Lon posted.

With the adjusted numbers my dyno showed a peak power of 295 wheel which is what I expected for euro headers + tune.

In the summer heat, our cars lose a LOT of power. I'm not surprised. I'd take it to the quarter mile, and see what your trap speeds are. 420rwhp should net 120 to 122mph. I was only hitting 116mph on my VT2-500 kit in the summer

Might be more telling than a dyno..

Sorry to see it's still low. Maybe a compression/leakdown is in order?

The summer temps make a difference, but they don't make THAT much of a difference. Mine put down 405 rwhp in the Orlando heat last week on 5.5-6 psi. I would think the numbers would be closer to 430-440 whp.

What maintenance have you done on the motor? It's unlikely the kit as mine is running great with ~7000 miles on it now. I DD in 100+ degree weather with no issues; and still have enough power to spin the 275s up through 2nd gear in the heat...

Recently, I had the VF570 installed on my Z4MC and will do a dyno in coming weeks. looking forward to see if I am getting different numbers.

VF doesn't know why my car is so weak
They asked me for my supercharger's serial number, but have not replied back yet.

I did valve inspection a little over a year ago, but other than that, just oil & filter changes :/

Yes, I posted the dynojet-corrected numbers. Still very low. Additionally, these numbers are synonymous with VF's in-house Mustang dyno.

I don't really do drag, nor do I have access to one nearby, so I can't really use that as a reference point.
Also, the weather was quite nice on the day of the dyno. I'd say maybe 70 degrees dry heat at most. There were plenty of fans being used as well, so I am not blaming the heat whatsoever.

Yeah...at least the output is consistent right now. Better than random boost and/or power levels or somethin'

Oh btw, I forgot to answer the question above: yes, I am running full boost, up to 9PSI, so I don't think it has to do with the charger, but who knows

be careful how you're reading the boost gauge, I know on my setup, if you bounce off the rev limiter, the boost will spike 2psi, and make you think you're making more than you really are

Yikes...well, I've only seen slightly short of 9psi when redlining via my wideband AFR controller + P3C gauge when keeping my eye on the gauge "live". Hopefully no issues.

But then again, seeing as how my car's putting out such little power, I'm sure there'd be no damage even if boost did spike 2psi

Wasn't this kit on EAS car? I wonder if they were making expected power.

Disappointing that VF couldn't help. Did they do a smoke test to check for boost leaks?

Yeah, it was on one of EAS's employee's car prior to my purchasing it. Not sure what kinda power they were making.

No smoke test that I know of. Boost test showed up to 9psi which is okay.

Why so low with numbers? Very close to a stock E9X M3 numbers. It should be way over that.

But lets say a stock E86 M dynos at around 270 hp to the wheels. Slap on a 100 hp SC kit and he should be at 370 hp. I dont see whats wrong with that. Are some of you folks claiming the kits give an added 200-300 hp?

If my mind serves correctly the VF SC for the S2000 and the SC kits for the NSX only gave you about 80-100 extra hp with the bolt on kits, with tune.
