photos of brake duct

as per several pm's, ive decided to post some better pics of how i finished the grille for my brake ducts. i have not found any backing plates that will work yet so i will have to make something. ducting and clamps were bought from home depot and the bezels are v-band clamp flanges painted gloss black.

and some garage pic i decided to snap and include. my truck is outside, just finished detailing my dads R8

Garage List
As with your other mods, this looks very tasteful. I do love how it helps with the uglyness of the solid parts of the lower grill. I never liked that the sides of the lower grill aren't cut out and thought about trying to cut it out myself. Now I may have to think about doing some ducting. About how much did the materials costs for this?

Looks prefect. Breaks up the lower grill nicely. Also, I think these are the first pics I've seen of your brakes. They look excellent, especially with the silver calipers!

thanks guys. all material so far was around 150 bucks. no backing plates included in that total though. to avoid feeding the ribbed ducting straight from the grille bezels, i made a plastic scoop that then feeds into the ducting and looks much more oem.

what do you think about painting the mirror covers to match the other black accents? i've been debating this for so long and just cant decide. it would be nice to have a spare set of oem covers to paint and fit

Too much. Right now there's a nice symmetry with the blacked out parts only down the center line of the car. Paint the mirror covers black and all of a sudden you break that nice, beautiful symmetry with an additional element that's broken up by other "silver" lines.

From a pure aesthetic perspective, the black mirror cover will look too busy from certain perspective, and not add enough to the look of the car IMO.

I agree. Keep the mirrors as they are.

Thanks for your opinion. I also like how the silver mirrors add some visual width to the car as well

Love your cars. They all look as if they just rolled off the showroom but with the perfect OEM+ flare.

mine was literally white after a few track days.
