1st to 2nd rough change issue.

I haVe a 2006 m roadster. I just hit 18k recently and have been having an issue changing from first to second at 8k. It feels as if the gear is geting stuck. Clutch is down to the floor but it feels like either the synchro is weak or something is up with the linkage because it's sporadic. I'd like to blame myself but i really don't think it's me otherwise I wouldn't be posting this. Any other m owners experience this? Any advice is much appreciated.

There has been many posts about this already.. What works for me is the technique to apply firm pressure on the shifter to the left during the entire shift from 1st to 2nd... (someone posted in one of the related threads that that is what was recommended by a BMW tech in Germany,,, take it for what its worth...)

I've done that but it still happens. The only thing that really works is keeping the clutch down for an extra second before u put it in 2nd. But who wants to wait an extra second. I was thinking about amsoil synchro mesh fluid swap. But I'm concerned about warranty.

Have you found yourself grinding quite a bit up until now? Is this car new to you? People have a hard time learning how to drive this car and end up grinding 1->2. If they never learn, then they keep grinding and eventually damage the synchros. Perhaps this is where you sit now.
