FS: aFe intake off of Z4M

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
Hi everyone,

I am selling my aFe intake off my 2006 Z4M. Mileage is unknown since it came with the car when I bought it last year (I have put 5,000 miles on it myself), but overall looks to be in good condition. There is some rough spots near mounting points (shown in pictures) however can be cleaned up very easily. No longer need it due to installing an Eventuri intake After closer review, one of the M6 mounting screws and 2 m6 flat washers are not included as it wasn't present when I removed the intake. I will pick up replacement parts this week and will include them to make the kit complete. EDIT: Replacement hardware acquired, kit is now complete!

Asking $350 or best offer. Please note this price does include shipping with insurance and PayPal fees. Will adjust price down accordingly for a local buyer (Chicago area). It's boxed and ready to go!

Thanks for looking!

P.S. sorry for the monster pics

Shocked this wasn't gone in less than a couple of hours. I love the one I bought off of a forum member here. Such a nice sound improvement for the S54! GLWS.

I want it too, but I don't want to have to yank it out every 2 years to smog it - one of the consideration why I sold my Eventuri

That's weird, I had my aFe intake on the Z, plus SS xpipe and mufflers when I did my Smog check here in California and it pass in the first try.
I like the engine noise the aFe produce and I had the Eventuri one too.

My car passed smog w/o issue running the AFE intake and RPI noise cannons, not sure whats going on in SoCal!

Free bump for a great piece, really wakes up the S54 induction noise! CA smog no issue

You're saying you preferred the aFE over the Eventuri? I only had the Eventuri briefly, but no experience with aFE. If you can PM me your smog place, it's very much appreciated.

I've taken my cars to a couple places here in OC. They are rather diligent with the inspection from what I can see. Always pop the hood and look under the car for cats. Got curious and asked what exactly were they looking for under hood - reply was any non-OE parts and CARB compliant for aftermarket parts. That's why I didn't want to even attempt going to get it test with a non-CARB intake

No No I SOLD my aFe when I got a Eventuri. Love the looks and sound of the Eventuri. But there is a reason why it is more expensive. But aFe for the price the Thread Owner is posting is excellent.

By the way I took to a place in Fullerton.
If I can find the place I will private message you.

After a week with the Eventuri installed, I will admit I prefer it, but only just a little bit more. It is a gorgeous intake, and is beautifully crafted. Sound wise between the two, they are very similar. The only real difference that I have noticed thus far is a little more engine noise present when under full load acceleration in the mid-range (4th gear pull starting about 70).

The aFe is great (I have one on my other Z4) and did enjoy it on the ///M. The only reason I switched is due to getting a used Eventuri for cheap. Stating that, if I would have bought the Eventuri new to replace the aFe, I honestly think I would have regretted it...

Wow this is helpful info! I would've never guessed the sound on both AFE and Eventuri are similar. With that said, again, someone buy my items so I can buy this intake! Lol
