BMW Extended Warranty Discount?

Anyone know of a dealer that will give me a discount on a Platinum Warranty? For my 2015 335i with 55k miles, I was quoted $5359 for 72 months/100k miles

$4789 for the gold package.

Seems like a lot but I do want some peace of mind.

As you are in Canada, that limits your options.

My car is registered in the U.S. If those prices were listed in CAD. I would have bought it ASAP!

He is in Vancouver Washington.

You can get any dealer in the U.S. to sell you the warranty. Try Sun Motors BMW in Pennsylvania. They deep discount OEM parts so I wouldn’t be surprised if they would discount a warranty.

I inquired at a few BMW dealerships and no one got back to me. The only quote I was able to obtain so far, was from my service adviser.

Unless something has changed, you're not going to get a dealer out of your area to give you a quote. You can thank the other dealers that cried foul and complained to BMW USA because of other dealers willing to discount. You used to be able to send your key FOB to the respective dealer for them to verify you mileage. Now per the rules, the dealer has to see the car in person to validate mileage which killed out of state extended warranty purchases.

There was a dealer in Cali who was the go to for the best pricing on BMW extended warranties. They have been effectively shut down because of the rule changes.

I was able to negotiate a little discount off the BMW extended warranty. $4389 for the Gold level warranty. 72 months from the in the service date or 100k miles. $100 deductible for all repairs.

I got one for my wife's X3 about a year ago after those rules were in effect, just had to send in the key. Got a pretty decent deal on it too.

$4389 is about $20 over the MSRP price BMW sets. Actual dealer cost is a lot less.

Then consider yourself lucky and I definitely wouldn't disclose the name of the dealer who did this for you.

This is very interesting information. Certainly makes sense why no one is getting back to me after I give them my information.

And you are right about physically seeing the mileage; exactly what my SA said.

I think the price varies by how old and how much mileage and if you're currently still under warranty. This sales person basically told me no inspection required only a 30 day wait period before any claims can be made.

Yes. When I bought my 135i new, I was trying to shop extended warranty pricing. The rule changes happened during that time so I got screwed.

BTW, sorry about being out of touch via email. Been meaning to touch base. I'll explain in email about what has been going on.

There's two different prices for the ESCs. A cheaper price if you are under 20k miles and a more expensive price if you are over 20k miles.

Both require you to be within the standard 4yrs (48mo) warranty period.

if you are a US resident, im guessing Washington? We blow those out for forum members. Just know that BMW has recently increased the price of these across the board by a lot! We sell them almost at cost. Just contact Jim Martinez at the store and let him know your vin number, current miles, and most important your a forum member. he is there 10-4pm m-f 805-482-8878

as far as selling out of state, last time I checked with Jim we had no issues with that. Best to ask him when you call, he will be able to tell you. I know we just did a few last week, but again best to ask Jim

Hey there. I'm interested in buying mppsk from bmwpartspros but wanted to ship it to a local dealer for install. Is that something you can do while giving me site pricing? Let me know. Thanks!

I wonder if the price increase is gouging or a reflection of the BMW vehicles reliability?
