euro headers vs us question

So our cars have 333hp, and euro ones have 343hp crank right? Yet people who just switch to euro headers, are gaining 15-20RWHP. Doesn't make sense to me. And why are europeans selling their headers, are they upgrading to something that gives significant gains over stock euro headers?

My Euro headers came off a wrecked car. Are the Euro Z4Ms really upgrading their headers? Or are the headers showing up just off the E46M cars that have been wrecked?

S54 M3/Z4M use the same headers so it doesn't matter where it came from. I did read comparison between SS Step V2 and Euro. They both yield about the same HP gains. Euro have more gains at lower RPM while SS gains are at higher RPM. Euro is better for day-to-day/street. SS is better for tracks where you are constantly running high RPMs.

A few of us had a good deal on SS so swapped to SS stepped headers recently. The car spends most time on track so this was a worth while mod to make. It was the final box to tick as i'd already swapped to 100 cell race cats and an after market back box prior.

Am due to track the car for the first time at the Ring in 2011 this coming w/e so will see if RobMCoupe's assessment holds true - i hope it does...

IIRC, the Euro cars have a different section 1 with a beefier cat to make up for the lack of cats in the headers.
