not really sure. but the website made a point to refer M owners to a different drop down. anyone care to chime in?

I don't know for sure, but it's possible the bolt is longer for the M cars in order to clear the fang on the bumper. Non-M cars could have a shorter bolt to mount the plate closer to the bumper.

Just a guess since I'm pretty sure the thread size/pitch is the same.

The dimension from the frame to the face of the bumper at the center of the hole is 2-3/4". The threads are countersunk so measure from the hard flat arouind the threaded hole.

If this helps, Greg

the === corner slot on the backside i was using has pretty much opened up like a tulip. the plate hasn't gone through anything more than sitting on the front of the car facing oncoming wind. i can turn it over and use the other corner, but i'm concerned for the day i use up all the corners...and the backplate is not the same length as the standard CA plate, so it has a tendency to bend.

I had an Rho on my 3.0si coupe that was just a hair to short to be swapped over to my M coupe. From talking to Rho it sounds like there were a couple of different configurations under the front bumper. I've heard of people putting the non-M on their M and it working fine but I'd get the slightly longer one. I did and it fits perfectly, just like the non-M did on my 3.0si.

Edit: Yes, this should fit the non-M no problem. It may stick out a few millimeters further if it's anything like the Rho but I don't think it would be significant.

That happened to my old one. I thought it was a cheaply made piece. Not worth the 70 bucks they charge for
