What app or device did you use to get the voltage readings?

I have an OBD scanner I picked up from ECS, Schwaben brand (ECS in-house? Dunno)

If I could find my DMM I'd use that...

Drove to work this morning, no issues

Dash lit up like "Christmas Tree"

I have had the instrument panel light up multiple icons intermittently on two of my BMWs in the past. Both times, replacing the alternator solved the problem.

Been 200+ miles with the new regulator, car has been running flawless. Idle has been completely steady. No codes

I just replaced the voltage regulator. It looks like it sold a number of my issues however I have the red battery light on. Has anyone encountered the same situation? I will be double checking all the connections. The car only has 42k miles so I hope it's not the alternator

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I've also been having the flickering ABS/DSC/BRAKE lights. For me they only start acting up 30-40 miles into a drive once I've been running the engine at higher rpm. Sometimes, the audio system cuts off along with the lights for half a second but very rarely. Anyway, my indy mechanic has replaced the alternator, and then the control unit for the ABS/DSC system. Both times, the same lights came back and now I'm running out of ideas and money... yikes! Any other reasons this could be happening? My Z4MR has only 16k miles on it.

same symptoms as mine a while ago. After a new battery, they found out the grounding wire of the alternator was loose. They adjusted and all is good for the last 3 year.

HTHS.

My 2010 BMW 335i is showing yellow for every code possible, DTC, Brake lights ABS wheel stability and also states to have vehicle serviced soon. I only have 49,532 miles on the car and had a tire replaced in the middle of November due to uneven wearing. I have not driven the car but a couple of times since that time due to an illness. What is possibly wrong with my baby?

Could be a wheel speed sensor, and ABS pump issue, or could be false warnings caused by a battery/charging system issue causing low voltage and unreliable operation of some of the controllers. With the engine off, what's the battery voltage? Should be greater than 12V. With the engine running, what's the battery voltage? Should be 13.5V minimum.

While driving and around 2k and above rpm the all three lights (brake, ABS and DSC) will come on for a second or two and go back off, at the same time the radio and display screen shuts off and tuns back on again. The same thing will happen with the car stationary and just by revving the engine at around 2k to 3k rpm. There is also a lost of engine power whenever the lights come on.

Does anybody has an idea of what might be causing these glitches?
I’m having exactly the same thing. It’s been happening more often...
I also see a correlation with ambient temperature- the last two times I drove to work (1 hr / 70 mi) on a <70 deg morning, it hasn’t happened (except once as I was pulling into the parking lot at the end). But on the two drives home in 80s-low 90 deg weather, it started happening after about 30 min, right after I got off the highway and was at a series of stoplights. It happened with increasing frequency, even once I was back on the open road, until it was near-constant flashing as I got home.

I’ve checked the battery voltage with engine off (12.5V) and on (14.5V), so I’m pretty sure it’s not the battery, and the alternator seems to behave well in a nice cool garage. I’ve ordered a voltage regulator made by Valeo (French) from here:
https://www.iwingoods.top/new-valeo-...1n-p-14377.htm

But it looks like it’s coming from China... if it hasn’t arrived in the next 10 days, I’ll just suck it up and have the whole alternator replaced to take care of the problem.

Experience or input from others is welcome as I deal with this...

Anybody have a source for the voltage regulator now?

My car just started doing this, and gives me an over voltage code on the dsc module.

Thanks in advance.
