My old OEM spoiler was affixed with the same tape, and coped fine with 140mph on the 'Ring, and 175mph on the autobahn.

Was only removed when it was vandalised/damaged and had a unsightly crack through it.
German Autobahn is my greatest concern
My OEM is also just taped, no problem going such speeds. But the Skyer, due to it's size and angle, must face much bigger drag i guess ! so, not sure if the tape is strong enough to hold up at high speeds

Well we know for sure the Skyer spoiler provide at least 1 more lbs of downforce.

Guys, the 3M Automotive Acrylic foam tape is THE industry standard and you'll find multiple OEs using it for expterior trim mounting purposes. Outside of drilling a hole on the hatch this double sided tape is about as secure as it gets.

It takes heat to release, so I wouldn't be TOO concerned about speed. I'd be more concerned if the car's parked outside in 120 degrees heat all the time as the foam in the tape will become brittle overtime.

Apply liberally and enjoy.

For my Tekarbon spoiler I used the 3M adhesion promoter below to give the tape that extra hold. I was worried that the residue would be tough to remove when I took the spoiler off but with a little elbow grease and goof off it came off with no apparent damage to paint or clear coat. Comes in small packet similar to hand wipes. Clean the car surface first, I used a clay bar, than rub this in the areas where the tape will adhere, let dry and than mount the spoiler. Be careful though, once that tape hits the surface it ain't coming off without destroying the tape

Betalink is permanent, if you want to take it off you have to break it off pretty much. Not even worth it when the tape will hold it no prob

3M tape should work fine. I used it to install the high kick trunk spoiler on the E90 , which is significantly larger. No issues at all.

Man I do love this spoiler, just wish it was closer to the roadster versions price. Will still buy it more than likely.

How are we not on 30 yet!? We've been waiting for this for ages! Come on people pull out your wallets and put your money where your mouth is!

Are we still going ahead with those who have confirmed, on the 8th October, if we don't reach 30 by then?

It's only been a week since the Group Buy started. I know everyone who's interested in a spoiler like this has been waited for 10 months. I'm sure there will be more people join very soon; they must not have seen this thread, yet! Let's give it some more time, spread the words and I'm sure we will hit 30.

Post this GB on other forums or take the pictures and post on Instagram.

More than likely in. Need to ship to Australia though. I'm seeing if a couple of other Aussie Z4MC owners are interested too. I'll confirm asap...

Just 7 shy...So tempted to just buy 8, and sell the remaining 7 at $650 ea.

You can get it off. I got mine off. Didnt damage the paint or destroy the spoiler. Was a fair bit of work but it came off well. That chemical they provide and a plastic tool really did wonders.

I also agree, not worth using it. 3M tape does wonders, just have to let it set for 24hrs and it will hold.
