Where to get a carbon fiber roundel set?
I am looking for a complete set - 4 wheels, front and rear badges, 2 side markers (maybe the interior badge on steering wheel, not too concerned about that) of carbon fiber roundel replacements that will fit a 2008 z4 3.0i roadster.
Yes, I have searched at length...The posts are either old or do not reference anywhere to buy a carbon fiber roundel set. If anyone can point me to a store in So. Cal. or to an internet retailer they have purchased from I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. |

Yeah, I have been there, from what I can tell by reading posts and their site, they are selling stickers you put on the stock roundel. Doesn't sound pretty.
But thanks. |

Yes, I've seen a few on eBay. Someone in the UK just bought and installed a set: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...art=30#p145523

I think bavauto.com sells a cheap sticker set to cover up the blue in the roundel with something that looks like carbon fiber - a cheap option if you're interested. not the real thing though.
go to www.bavauto.com and search for "HD1 CARBON" |

trust me when I tell you that the stickers are your best option. removing the roundels are a pain and in my opinion the aftermarket ones never fit the same.

I'm not so fond of a sticker option. I have seen the ones from the ebay seller on another car and they fit surprisingly well.
going that route, when i get around to it. peace rob |

will do. Looks like they are gonna cost about $150, so if I bite the bullet I will let you know....thinking I would rather put the money toward my wheels right now, but I keep going back and forth.
Before anyone says it: yeah, stickers are much cheaper, but like escorts, you get what you pay for. Trying to keep my ride std free. |

Roundel replacement
I got the BMW carbon Fibre roundels on E-bay and replaced them all.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-R...Q5fAccessories The front on the Z-4 coupe is smaller than the 73 mm you can buy, you have to hollow out the back, cut off the posts and epoxy it to the car. The side and back ar 82mm and you have to again cut off the posts and put on with 3-m double sided tape or sealant. The back one over the latch for the hatch back on the coupe, you have to cut two holes inside to fit over the pins. So I ordered 3 82 mm, 1 72 mm (which is larger than stock) and a set of wheel centers which just pop on and off. More work than you would think! |
