Replacing Side/Turn Signal Emblem - DIY - Pictures

Another emblem has chipped off and faded away :thumb down This is the third emblem I've replaced since I bought the car, sighs.. but oh well. Let's get to it.

Tools needed:
*Hair dryer/Heat gun
*Plastic prying tools
*Alcohol
*Cloth

This was my old emblem.

First, heat up the area around the emblem for at least 5 minutes until the surface warms up. This will help you weaken the glue so that the emblem comes off easily.

Proceed to gently pry the edges of the emblem. I used these prying tools.

A quick clip for ya.

Remove any leftover particles of glue from the surface.

Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol. This will help the glue stick better.

Heat up the surface before you stick the new emblem on. Make sure it's warm.

Align the two little plastic bolts with the holes on the back of the emblem and proceed to push the new emblem onto the turn signal's surface. Press firmly and work your way around the edges.

Aaaaaaaaand we are done!

Quick comparison from the old and new emblems.

Thank you for taking your time with the detail DIY. Other way to do it is just twist the puck to remove it. Then use a razor blade and cut thru the adhesive. Clean up and put the new one. It took me less than 5 minutes to swap our both sides with carbon fiber caps.

Call me nuts, but it looks pretty cool without the emblem.
Were it not for the two holes.
I always thought they were a little too Flavor Flav.

Does the new emblem have the adhesive on it or do you need to provide that as well?
