Headlight disassembly

I noticed my headlights have dirt trapped in them. After googling "Z4 headlight disassembly" some links to patient people taking these things apart with a heat gun. Anyone know someone I can pay to do this for me (too expensive for my learning curve). Shipping is no problem.

Why not send them out for halos if you are going to send them away anyway.

pretty sure you can't "heat" them apart, you have to cut them.

After taking apart some headlights years ago, I'm never going through that again.

AFAIK, these headlights don't come apart using heat. You have to cut the lens off, then glue and seal them back up. Sounds like a real pain.

I did a halo experiment without cutting the lens, but it wasn't simple.

Respectfully as I just mentioned this guy heats up them up before cutting and obviously has it down pat, see the results on the thread link provided above by MYovich and here (see custom headlight section) http://www.tekarbon.com/shop/

Hey Pungo- see how cloudy your lenses are? A body shop or a (great) detailer could 1) sand 2) compound 3) polish 4) buff 5) wax them. there are no shortcuts

The lens are crystal clear, the picture made it look a little cloudy due to the halos reflecting on the lens.

I have restored lens on other cars myself using the methods you describe, except I coated them clearcoat paint so they will last, just waxing them won't last very long.

I didn't work on these headlights, I worked on some headlights from a Z3M. I baked them in the oven, pulled them apart, and resealed them. It was a nightmare, an absolute nightmare. No doubt I did everything wrong, but it all left enough of an impression that I'll never do it again.

I curious what the purpose is of heating them up before cutting them open. I thought he just cut them open without heating them up. I guess he has his methods which are secrete.
