I was cleaning my wheel wells; and removing the excess rubbers that came from doing track and autocross; so I lifted up only the rear passenger side using bmw factory scissor jacks to start cleaning, then removed the hand brake to rotate the rear passenger wheel when the car moved forward a little bit and fell off the jack. I know I should have put blocks or something behind the front tires but I'm an idiot.
All four wheels were installed and tightly torqued when it fell off however, so that makes me feel a little better since i have upcoming track schedules. Is there anything I should be worried about? Keep and eye/hear out for? Be checking for right now? Thanks for your help. |

I'm not sure what you should be concerned about. All depends on how the car came to rest. I do know, however, that after using an OEM jack in an emergency that I'd be terrified to use it to do any sort of extended work. It's pretty flimsy.

"What should I be worried about?"
... Being under it. I wouldn't worry about the car. It's probably had worse from potholes. Get a floor jack and some jackstands while all of your limbs are properly attached.

^^ what they said. but if you've still got a nagging thought, you could always take it to an alignment shop and have them run the numbers as it sits. I'd be willing to bet your scissorjack may be twisted now though?

look under the car where the jack was fit.
Look for scratches in the undercoating. Restore scratches with a small brush and some undercoating to prevent rust. Oh and buy another decent jack. A scissorjack is something you only use in emergency when you swap a wheel at the roadside.

I think you should be worried your M came with a scissor jack and that you posted this in just about every other subforum on here. Are you serious or trolling?
