High RPM + Small displacement + High Output = Immanent Failure

Seems like the Sti is a generally similar design to our cars. High HP/L ratio, not much low-end torque, must be revved to really get it going. The FI doesn't help its longevity. From casual observation on the street, many of these cars are driven hard. Not an engineer, but would have to suspect that a 4 cyl boxer design is going to have a lot less internal harmony, much more stress on the crank than an in-line 6.

If only there were larger displacement engine available that were able to offer great HP/TQ, at lower rpm, that utilized a proven and, simplistic design.
