I have heard the faint ticking on my S52 engine and on this S54 as well. I thought it was a lifter tick at first, but after having the S52 inspected, it appears that it is just noise coming from the Vanos.

I notice the exact "ticking" on my car. It is nice to see the S54 hasn't changed.
