The ONLY body kit on the Z that is even semi-passable for me is the Studie AG kit from Japan. And that is only because it's a direct replica of the Motorsports Chassis.

IMO, they should have had dedicated M side skirts (instead of the Aero kit sides)

I like the rear diffuser and the roof spoiler the most...not fond of the front bumper now that i see it.

i agree with those who are saying our M's are just fine the way they are, but a little embellishment in the right places just makes owning the car more fun.

i think tekarbon halos, a cdv delete, new tint, and powder coating my stock wheels to gunmetal are what i am going to stick with for now - plenty to do.

I really think the Z4M is absolutely perfect as it is.

For me, it has enough stylng cues to make it stand out to those who really know what an M is: the unique front, raised hood, dual exhausts, and the oh-so-subtle but all important ///M badge.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think its already a masterpiece!

I've also always wanted wider fender flares to differentiate from non-M's. In terms of BMW's history, the E85 and E86 M's got shafted the hardest.

For one, we should've at least got wider more aggressive body panels from the factory.
Secondly, it would've been nice to have gotten the E9X M3's V8 motor, or even the E39 M5's just like the older Z8's. Our low production numbers couldn't have hurt them too badly. Albeit these cars didn't sell well originally =P
Thirdly, we got shafted on signature BMW angel eyes...wtf -_- our cars are almost as bad in this sense as the E46 3-series. But I feel that we have it worse because they half-assed our halos. i.e. we can't run inner AND outter halos independently, even with Euro LCM flash. Leaves us with only inner halos available T_T
Then there's the theory that ///M models of Z3 and Z4 were to get rid of excess parts from more sold models. What you mention kind of backs up this theory. The Z's did not introduce any new technology -- it's just tech from quite a bit older predecessor cars. (S54 Z3 was interesting though)

Agree. I like the bumper and I like the factory side skirts. The aero skirt adds another crease on the side (the first being the bottom of the door panel), which makes it look out of place.

Kit isn't my CoT either, but I do like the yellow. Kinda wondered what a nice yellow would look like and I like it.

One thing about car photos is it is all about the angles. This photo kinda sucks and isn't at an angle that helps the car. I'm sure it looks good in person though. I like the Hamann sides and roof spoiler, but ACS did the rear wing better. Those wheels have got to go though.

Here's the Hamann site with multiple views of the Z4M fully kitted.

I must say I like the aesthetics of the Hamann side skirts but I am doubtful about the rest. I especially prefer the stock front bumper and the stock treatment of the rear end. The spoiler and wing look a bit overdone to me. Tastes differ of course.

To my eye, the skirts provide a beefier race-car look that probably should have been the stock offering. If my car had them magically installed I'd leave well enough alone with a smile but I'm not about to pay for the change. Nice to look at though.

There may even be some value in the venting for a track car. Thoughts?
