Proposed Fall Z4 Niagara Tour

Well, we had a lot of fun this past weekend and there seems to be some interest for another one. I am proposing a fall drive in the Niagara region to allow us to take in fall colours and the Niagara Wine Festival. Here is a link to the proposed route...

This would have us meeting in Grimsby just off the QEW and then drive Ridge Road then winding our way down to Port Colbourne where we can stop at eShine to pick up some supplies if needed (if you haven't been there or bought from them, best prices and variety of auto detailing supplies around IMO). From there we would head into Fort Erie and drive the parkway from there, along the Niagara River through the falls on down the escarpment into Niagara on the Lake. It has us ending at Jackson Triggs Winery for a tour and tasting.

I would suggest we meet at 10am, have lunch together in Fort Erie, then after the winery tour, you would still have time to tour other wineries either together or on your own or do a little shopping in NOTL.

Jackson Triggs is not our favourite wine but it is a great winery to tour and then often have food and wine pairings going on in their patio area, especially during the festival. We have our favourite wineries and would be glad to share some names if you are interested in other places to stop.

So, the question is, which weekend. If we want to be there during the festival, the options are Sept 22 or 29. If we don't care about the festival then the 15th would also work. I would suggest the 29th if possible though.

Lets here a consensus as to what weekends are preferred and then I will post it on the BMW Meets page.

Gonna do my best to make this one. At this point, all dates are cool. Given that it's wine tasting etc, I'd assume most guys will bring their gals?

not much for a winery tour but i'd tag for the ride and then prolly split up once we get there, maybe meet up for the ride back?

Yup, my wife will be there, I am sure searchdev as well, maybe others. Folks certainly don't have to take part in the winery tour but since we're there, it's worth it if you haven't done one before.

If you are not normally a wine drinker, this might change you. The difference between a great wine and an average wine is huge!

A little too early for me to confirm, mostly depends on my little ladies schedule. I'm a fan of Tawse and Hillibrand and will probably go visit them sometime in August for fun anyways

Oh yes - I know the difference - we've been wine drinkers for years although recently not at much due to some health issues I've had (nothing serious, but wines seem to give me quite a bit of heartburn since a surgery I had some years back).

We used to be part of some wine clubs and what not.

Now... To arrange the kiddies to be baby sat...

I'm a 'maybe' at this point.

We have a significant implementation at work through the month of September. I'll be working some weekends (schedule unknown at this point) and callable on others.

29th is the only day that's likely to work for me.

At this point I think we're leaning towards the 29th. Last weekend of the fest as well so usually a little more going on.
