22nd should work for me. You guys figure out where to meet up and where to go. Recommend cross-posting it too.

Okay, so nobody seems to want to commit to a route So how bout I come out and say we'll do the Blackhawk - Estes Park - Lyons route. I think the route is a little twistier that way (assuming we don't get stuck behind an RV with Texas plates) even if the colors are better over Kenosha (just an opinion mind you), and there's some good restaurants at the end or mid way in Estes.

If we meet around 9:30-10:00 am in Lions park in Golden, it's 2ish hours to Estes. Stop for lunch and drive down to Lyons, another 30 minutes. Then head our separate ways from there.

Sound good? Anyone want to cross post this for me, I'm not to sure where any other local Z's hang out.

I was also thinking to open up a bit. I've got a bud with an S2000 I've been meaning to go for a drive with. What da ya think?

Take care all

I'm all for opening it up to whoever wants to drive, more the merrier.

Lyons is now cut off with the flooding, we'll need to think about the route with all this flooding stuff.

Hope you all arent affected.

Yeah any mountain routes around Boulder/Lyons/Estes are going to be out this year.

Utra, I looked at and drove your car when it was at Arapahoe Auto Sales in Boulder before I decided on the car I ended up with. Did you manage to talk them down from their asking price? The car was a bit more ... tired ... than what I wanted, but the price was pretty good.

I've had my car for about 2 months now and only put a couple hundred miles on it. Already removed the CDV and bought in on the Vibra-technic motor mount group buy, they are sitting in the garage waiting to be installed.

I'm doing the CCA driving event at Pueblo on the 21st. Probably not up for driving on the 22nd after all that driving (down to Pueblo and back on the same day) but keep us up to date here on this thread...

Here's a quick pic of mine:

Also, the Cars and Coffee event in Lafayette (first Saturday of each month) was jam-packed last month - all kinds of cars. A Model T was parked next to me. Everything from Mustangs to Ferraris. It's big enough now that it's worth coming to if you're up north. It used to just be a little get together, mainly Porsches, but it's really grown in the last 2 years.

Let's plan to do the October Lafayette C&C!

I'm still up for a drive on 22nd, anyone come up with alternate route?

I talked them down $2k. The tires on it were probably not safe to drive on, but I put Conti DW on it a few days after I bought it. It's actually in sound mechanical condition, checked it all out and codes. Only a small small leak on the power steering line that S54s tend to get.

Where'd you buy your CDV? Where'd you get your car at, it's pretty sweet!

My suggestion on route, it'd be about 3.5 hours round trip

Meet up at the gas station outside of Bandimere at 9 AM, head up to Fairplay on 285, Breckenridge then over to loveland pass and back down to Denver. Is highway 6 up to Blackhawk still drivable, that'd be a better way to finish the drive as opposed to I-70.

I wouldn't be opposed to a there and back from Fairplay/top of Kenosha pass and stopping for lunch in Conifer

Actually just removed the CDV, the hose is flexible so you can just connect it directly to the clutch intake without the CDV there.

I bought the car from a BMW dealer in North Carolina and had it shipped here. Hardest part was finding a shipper, but it ended up getting here in 2 days once I found one. It's in amazing shape.

I like it.

Always liked the road behind dillon when I worked up there in the 80's. it will be nice to do it with a car that can actually accelerate

Last I heard 6th from clear creek into golden was open. The only sour spot will be the tunnel construction just below Idaho springs. I think traffic on the rest 70 that time of day will be okay

I'm in see you Sunday at 9am

I'm in. 3.5hrs sounds good, I'm up for avoiding I-70 at all costs, just a preference.

Agreed on I-70 ... Sundays stink taking that, should be early enough to avoid most of the traffic. My guess is that not as many people will even venture up to the mountains with all the rain we have had.

Yup that's the gas station.

Interesting, I'll have to try that and save a few bucks.

How many miles does yours have?

Excellent except that I'd rather cut behind dillon reservoir and take Loveland pass instead of Eisenhower tunnel

See you tomorrow
