TPMS on non-RFT tires?

I see people install TPMS on non-RFT tires but whats the point?
Is the TPMS really worth getting for non-RFT tires?

I'm assuming that bmw placed these tpms on their RFT to let you know if you got a flat, but its irrevalant if you have non-rfts, I mean you would definetly know by the sound of the tire that you have a flat with non-rfts.

Lastly, has anyone succesfully installed tire pressure monitor systems on 19 inch m6 reps (miro brand)? How hard is it to install yourself?

The TPMS does still give you notification of low inflation on one or more of your tires no matter what you have mounted.

The OEM BMW TPM (RDC) Sensors are made by Beru AG, and work on 433MHz frequency.

Part numbers are as follows:
36236779490 - Wheel Electronics Module
36146759741 - Valve Stem

They are a direct bolt on to the wheel, before you mount the tires on. And yes, it'll fit the 19" Miro style #346s.

Notification of low inflation is just merely convienience. Not really useful when you can always use a PSI meter and check pressures manually. I'm not sure if its worth $200 dollars for just this convienience imho.

What do you guys think?

People should be checking tire pressures regularly regardless. Anyway, the TPMS sensors have an internal battery that generally lasts ~8 years. So... $200 over 8 years isn't so bad.

The good thing is that you don't HAVE to put them on. You'll just have to get used to the annoying warning light that glares at you while you drive. But since your car's already set up with a system, you might as well use it.
