coolant temperature
What is the normal operating temperature on our cars?
Mine is hovering around 99-104 C* around town and on the freeways. Of course the temperature drops right a way as soon as I turn the heater on. My car is a 2007 3.0si with 26,650 miles. The temp.gauge is right at 1200. I am asking as I am new to BMW. My other cars, 14 WRX runs around 97 c* and 07 Tundra around 96 c*. |

You actually have a coolant temp gauge on your 3.0si?
The OBD data I have coming out and recording during a 28-29 deg C day at the track shows coolant temps running between 102 and 105 during the lap.

I have the Torque app thus I am able to see the coolant temp. It seems the coolant temp. in my Z4 stays pretty consistent between going uphill and downhill. Whereas my other car's temp. tends to go down when the engine has less load.
