Maintenance Schedule - Z4 3.0SI N52 Coupe

This is what my maintenance has looked like over the last 2 or so years. I kept a log and I figured some of it may be pertinent information for Zpost users. You can also post your logs or maintenance on here.

Bmw z4 oil changes
Castrol 0w30
Done at 42 000 miles.
Done at 47 000 miles.
Done at 54 000 miles.
Done at 60 500 miles.
Done at 64 500 miles.
Next at 69 000 miles.

Other maintenance
-Brakes done [Centric Rotors & Akebono Pads] 46 600 miles
-FCAB [OEM part#31126783376] 46 000 miles (seems they weren't installed properly or hit a pothole and broke one of the bushings)
-Air filter cleaning (K&N) 58 000 miles
-Brake fluid [ATE Super Blue] 58 800 miles
-Stainless steel brake lines 58 800 miles
-Vanos Solenoid Cleaning 59 000 miles

-Inspection II completed 60 500 miles
-Cabin Air Filter [OEM part #64319195194] 60 500 miles
-Front Control Arms and FCAB again [OEM part# 31126777851, 31126777852, 31126783376] 60 500 miles
-Spark plugs [Bosch] 60 500 miles
-Differential fluid [Redline] 60 500 miles
-Shift link bushing [OEM part# 25111222015] 60 500 miles
-SIB 4670944 or 330408 (attached) & seal [OEM part# 31507609535] 60 500 miles (stopped differential knocking)
This SIB said was followed but it turns out my diff was missing 1.5L of oil so I cant be sure which solved the clunk.
-Strut & sway bar bushings [OEM part#33551094551, 31351096365] 60 500 miles
-Fuel filter [OEM part# 16117168284]*60 500 miles
-Cupholder passenger side

-Transmission fluid @63 000 miles next at 100 000 miles
-Exhaust resonator delete @63 000 miles

-Suspension up next! Koni yellows purchased from ECS

I'd say I've spent roughly around $2500 over the course of 4 years of ownership (this thread covers 2 of those years, prior to that there wasn't anything done except regular maintenance). The car currently runs like new. I had a serious MPG problem that was solved either by the fuel filter or by the spark plugs. I don't have the readings yet but with a bit less than half a tank I already have more miles on this fill than prior . And yet after all this I still have a somewhat unsteady idle.

Update Jan 2015:
-MPG is definitely back to normal standards
-Driving in winter with blizzaks, love my car.

Update Mar 2016:

Looks good. I have an 06 3.0si with 91k miles and have taken a similar approach. I do the oil changes every 7000-7500 miles.

I did replace all parts of my cooling system at 80k miles.

Supposedly it can be done from the top however my mechanic said he had to drop the transmission and do it from under the car on a lift, I'm not sure which way ended up taking.

I will say this it made one hell of a difference for my car

Thanks for sharing your maintenance schedule. Did you do the VANOS solenoid cleaning yourself? How difficult is it?

Yeah I did it myself. It's quite easy to locate and easy to clean. I've seen other members dunk it in gas over night to clean but I brake cleaned it so I could put them back same afternoon.

The hard part is putting the solenoid back in. It's a f***in pain because its so tight to angle the part back into the engine. Its completely doable you just have to be persistent and try every single way till it goes in.

You have NO idea how satisfying it is to leave from 1st gear/reverse and not have a clunk. It's heaven.
