Good info! I went and looked at a Z4 for another forum member today. It was an 04 Z4 3.0i: http://www.atlantacaronline.com/2004..._228876438.veh
Absolutely horrible car. Obvious bodywork, no panels had even gaps, dents, scratches, marred/chipped wheels. Interior was a disaster with worn steering wheel, console. Shift knob spun around on the stick. Clutch severely worn, sticky steering(I had never experienced that before- very scary!). All electrochromatic mirrors failing. You just can't tell from an online ad!!! |

My thoughts:
Color combination is always going to be dependent on what the buyer wants. I personally think Black/Red is the best combo (I'm obviously biased). But there are others who probably think all black is the best combination. So don't worry about color REALLY affecting the price. I could understand a red car having military green interior having a problem selling. But this isn't the case. You see Black/Red on a lot of cars. More exotics than regular cars for sure. And the way I see it, I feel like any Z4M (coupe or roadster) are starting to be recognized more. (Coupes more than roadster) and the values are going up as well (coupes more than roadsters). So if you are going to keep this car for awhile. I think you should expect the values to go up. Although I think 22-23 is the better price. If the seller doesn't budge and you really like the car then you should go for it. However it's also hard to judge your opinion of 7/10 to my 7/10. We could be far apart in these opinions and my 7/10 could be your 2/10 or my 7/10 could be your 10/10. So I REALLY can't say. And another reason I really think people are recognizing these cars more is that I really had no clue these things existed until a year ago. I knew the model existed but I'd didn't think they were all that special. Then when I started to see the performance of them and how fast they really were did I become more interested. Not to mention how rare they are. People will eventually start to pick up on it and go crazy over them. Just like they have for the Z3M's. Granted the roadsters still aren't as expensive as the coupes. But it has always been like this for most BMW M models. Coupes cost more (used). But yet the values for both have gone up. My best advice for you is to see how much you can pressure the seller into lowering the price. It doesn't matter how much he got it for (he got screwed). But he will eventually come down to his senses. And if the dealer really is offering him 23k then whatever. Just wait and he can take it to the dealer.

I didn't think it deserved its own thread, but thoughts on an '08 Z4M Roadster with 19k miles in Silver over Black w/ Carbon Leather dash and Nav for $31.9? Bit high? On the money?

if it were Imola Red with heated power seats, bluetooth and an OEM deflector I'd be all over it like a fat kid on a Smartie! I love my Montego Blue SI but an Imola red M is my one weakness.

I bought my BSM 2007 Z4MC w/21K miles earlier this year for $32,500 so it seems to be inline with that pricing.

It seems values are all over the board. I haven't had too much action on mine at $28.5K, although it could be the time of year (and/or location).

About the Z4M buyer's guide...I've never noticed anything being out of date. I don't have any affiliation with the owners, but I think they try to stay on top. They started with the Z3 coupe and roadster and they cull the ads from ebay, Craig's and autotrader.
Seems like when I've checked them in the past, they were doing a pretty good job. Could have slipped up a little. Ryan |

I have that exact color combo and it's amazing. Black is a bit sombre in these cars- the red is just the right pop of color- it's not like the dash and carpets are red so it's not overwhelming.
As for the black exterior: get that BSM paint color-corrected and waxed and it looks incredible. Just my $0.02. |
