My problem went away. I bought the ignition switch, and the car started working fine again. I think it's afraid of surgery.

When I had problem with the ignition switch the symptoms would come and go. Being fine for a month or two and then it barely started. I'd suggest you'd change it anyway, unless you want to increase the risk of a partially damaged starter ring on your fly wheel as I have because of it. The starter would grind on the starter ring sometimes because it would interrupt the starting of the engine before it had fired up.

After changing the the ingition switch the symptoms are gone to 99%, but 1 in a 100 the partially damaged part of the starter ring will align with the starter causing it to start not so smoothly. But no grinding anymore. Just a friendly piece of advice.

Thanks for the input. I might make it a spring project. The car is hibernating for the winter.
